EACYPAA is the acronym for Eastern Area Convention of Young People in Alcoholics Anonymous. It is an A.A. convention which meets annually in one of any states in the Eastern Area, which is made up of all states East of the Mississippi River. The convention provides an opportunity for A.A.’s from all over the Eastern Area and all over the world, to come together and share their experience, strength, and hope as members of A.A. EACYPAA is overwhelming evidence that large numbers of people are achieving a lasting and comfortable sobriety in Alcoholics Anonymous. Like any other convention, it is an opportunity to learn more about the program and sobriety.  In April 2010 the convention was held in Burlington Vermont, where A.A. members from Ann Arbor and all across the state of Michigan went to place a bid for the convention to held here in 2010. All of their hard work won and now we are delighted to announce that EACYPAA 9 will be held in Michigan in 2011! Now the real work takes place and that’s where YOU come in! Hosting a convention takes a lot of thought and planning, and the EACYPAA 9 host committee needs your help! Whether you are new to AA, been around awhile and have never gotten involved in hosting a convention, or are seasoned in service work, we urge you to get involved.
